Officiant Services

Your wedding ceremony should feel

deeply personal, meaningful, and uniquely yours.

I’m Rev. Lanta Carroll — an ordained minister and licensed counselor serving couples throughout Atlanta and beyond.  I officiate weddings as an extension of the work I do with couples — helping partners communicate more deeply, clarify their values, and step into marriage with intention and care.

For that reason, premarital counseling is an integral part of how I work with couples and is required when I serve as your officiant (completion of a minimum of 6 hours of premarital counseling also qualifies you for a discount on your marriage license in the state of Georgia)!

Whether you’re planning a classic wedding, intimate elopement, or non-traditional celebration, I’ll walk with you through every step of crafting a ceremony you’ll remember forever.

Every ceremony I officiate is grounded in the conversations we’ve already had together: your story, your challenges, your strengths, and the commitments you’re choosing to make. Because I know you — not just your wedding timeline — I’m able to craft a ceremony that feels honest, grounded, and deeply personal.

TESTIMONIALS

Thank you so much for your guidance during our counseling and for officiating our wedding ceremony. Your thoughtful remarks were a testament to your engagement and understanding during our premarital counseling sessions.

Tim, Groom

Thank you for being such an awesome officiant! The premarital counseling was important to us to help ensure we have the most positive foundation for our marriage and family. I'm so glad we found you! I am so honored to have had such a kind, warmhearted person officiate our wedding. We couldn't have asked for more!

Important Questions to Ask Before Booking an Officiant
(and my answers to them)

Can anyone officiate a wedding in Georgia? Are you legally qualified to marry us?

I'm ordained and licensed by the state of Georgia to officiate wedding ceremonies and also have extensive training in both ministry and counseling, including a Masters in Divinity from McAfee School of Theology/Mercer University and Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My ordination certificate was attained by a local congregation/denomination (in other words, I didn't get my ordination certificate online). While there are a growing number of "quick click" online ordination certificates out there, I deeply value the extensive ministry training and congregational ordination process that I have undertaken. You can trust that I have the skillset and training you're looking for when it comes to planning and performing your wedding ceremony and journeying with you through an intentional premarital counseling process.

Can we have family or friends participate in our ceremony?

Yes! I welcome the participation of friends and family in your ceremony if desired and will help you brainstorm meaningful ways to best include them.

How many weddings have you performed?

I've performed over 90 wedding ceremonies for couples and value building relationships with each couple I work with.

Will you accommodate our photographer and videographer?

Yes-I hold both a deep value for the sacredness of the ceremony and also have flexibility in working with your vendors to capture your ceremony experience in a way that is most meaningful for you as a couple. (Some officiants will not allow these vendors to be too close during the ceremony, so be sure to ask this upfront!)

Can you accommodate our wishes/vision for our ceremony?

Yes! I am not a "one size fits all" officiant, meaning that I value your input and ideas for what best captures your vision and helps uniquely celebrate your story.

What resources will you provide to help us plan special ceremony elements (i.e. special readings, sample ceremony formats, vow language, etc...)?

All of the above! I have carefully put together a resource packet that will help take the stress out of planning the details of your ceremony. You won't be alone in considering what elements to include, what language best resonates with you, and any other samples of readings that can be helpful. I want you to have a template and guide to know what to expect that also gives you the freedom to have a ceremony that flows how you want it to.

Share your ceremony details below and Lanta will be in touch soon!

Thanks so much, I'll be in touch soon!
